I know I haven't posted in awhile, I've been busy working on many other things.
I recently finished this book cover for the Puffin children's book cover prize.
Wow I spent so much time on it.
I went with a theme of Snow White, I love the red apple.
Here it is!
It is all screen printed, then all the elements were put together in photoshop. The background texture I did myself with a mixture of glue and paint.
Im really pleased with the out come.

Yield - Illustration Friday
Hello all!
I've been busy with Uni work at the moment but, I took some time out to do this weeks illustration friday.
Yield was such a hard word to illustrate! All I could think of is big burly men with swords shouting
"YOU WILL YIELD!"
But big burly men isn't my thing.
So I thought long and hard and did a tree that yields lots of fruit. =)
Much more ellen-y I think. =D
This is done with a layer of watercolour and then a Rotring pen for the lines.
I recently got a Rotring pen for my screen prints. So I wanted to try it out.

Apples
Hi all!
The other day I caved into some apples to get the right font for the Grimm's book cover.
Here is a little snap shot.
Most of the other letters are on the other side, incase you was thinking I was having a bad spelling day.
In total it will say "Grimm's Fairy Tales"
I will be drawing the finished thing soon hopefully so better images to come :)

Hairy Tales - Snow White
Hay I've been working on some images under the title "Hairy Tales"
The idea of this is to have the main characters from different fairy tales, with really long hair and intwined in it would be elements from the stories. I hope that makes sense!
Oh also I want to take the tales in their non Disney form, which is super hard!
First up is Snow White or Snow Drop as Brothers Grimm called her
This is just the line art, no elements in the hair yet, That will be the next step.
But as I'm on the computer I thought I'd share it with my blog. =)
